NEEDLE-FELTED, NATURALLY-DYED textiles made using BRITISH WOOL sourced in DEVON

AW Collection

REDEFINING needle-felting

My work reimagines the possibilities of needle-felting - a traditional technique often associated with sculptural crafts - by transforming it into a method for creating intricate, expressive textile designs. At the heart of my practice is British wool, sourced directly from farms in Devon which I wash, card, and naturally dye.

Using this wool, I ‘paint’ with fibre, layering and blending each colour with a felting needle and my hands to create soft gradients, rich textures, and detailed patterns. This direct manipulation of fibre offers extraordinary control over both colour and form, enabling seamless blends and painterly transitions that expand the creative potential of wool textiles.

Each piece is made from 100% wool, showcasing the untapped potential of this abundant, renewable and biodegradable fibre. Needle-felting is a slow, labour-intensive process, and every design is the result of days of focused, hand-crafted work.

Through this process, I aim to elevate British wool into something precious, tactile, and enduring. These works invite a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship, natural materials, and the beauty of a fibre rooted in the British landscape.
